The travel site Momondo, which finds and compares the best prices for flights, hotels, rental cars, ferries, package tours, and holiday homes for free, is moving to a leasehold of 1,300 m² on the corner of Regnbuepladsen and Farvergade right next to Rådhuspladsen in Copenhagen on 1 November 2022. CEO of Momondo, Tore Pein Jensen, says:
“We are a global company with many international employees, so it has been important for us to find a central location in Copenhagen with easy access to the city and its many offerings. At the same time, the premises had to be flexible and inspiring to work in, and we are happy to have found that.”
“Together with EDC, we have been looking for the right premises, and we have been thorough to that extent. Our team, together with EDC and our interior design consultants Danielsen Spaceplanning, have seen many office properties in Copenhagen in order to find just the right one that meets our many quality requirements for the property and the location. It is great that it has now fallen into place, and we have found the right place for us, which will be furnished completely according to our wishes.”
The travel industry is at full speed again, and Momondo sees that people want to travel again. Tore Pein Jensen from Momondo says:
“We are fully in gear again and can really feel that people have a saved need for travel. Thus, we have more searches on our portal than before corona in 2019. We have gained many good experiences during corona with working at home. Our productivity has by no means decreased – quite the opposite. As an international company, we have many online meetings with colleagues and business partners around the world. There is no doubt that flexible working methods are here to stay, and we also have a policy offering our employees to work at home. We have full confidence that they will solve their work tasks. Flexibility both ways is hugely important, and everyone really appreciates it.”
“It is important for us to create a good and inspiring workplace, so that our employees have an attractive base when they work from the office. They really want to come in and be with their colleagues, which is why we get the new office set up exactly as we want. We want to create a good atmosphere that, in addition to meeting facilities geared for many online meetings, also contains good, large spaces for joint meetings as well as a large and relaxing lounge area with a bar, new kitchen facilities with dining areas, etc. We put a lot of effort into the interior design, so that we create the optimal framework for our employees to be happy, satisfied and, of course, productive.”
Helle Nielsen Ziersen, Head of International Relations, EDC Poul Erik Bech says: “Momondo is a perfect example of an extended trend where many companies have increasingly higher demands to their office premises. There is a battle for the good and skilled employees with a very low unemployment rate, and more people are recognizing the importance of working in inspiring office premises with top-notch facilities. As real estate brokers, we experience that, especially for large, international companies, there are more requirements for office facilities. It has been a long and exciting process, and therefore extra motivating to find the right premises for Momondo. But it is great that they have found exactly what they wanted and can put their very own stamp on the premises.”
“It is a very charming property they are moving into, where the offices are being refurbished from A to Z with many fine details. They get a total of 1,300 m² spread over 3 floors with lift. The property has high ceilings and charming bay windows in several places. Beautiful new dining kitchens and toilets with bathing facilities are being established, just as the leaseholds are furnished with light wooden floors, ceilings with visible installations and New York style glass walls, as well as cooling and ventilation. There is a good amount of daylight due to the large window sections on both sides of the property, which gives the rooms a transparent and light feeling. They are set up very efficiently with many spacious work sections and many small meeting rooms, which are in demand by many companies.”
The landlord of the property is PenSam. Momondo’s new offices are centrally located at Regnbuepladsen, a small cozy square in direct extension of Rådhuspladsen, which is like a quiet oasis in the very heart of Copenhagen, and close to public transportation.
On the collaboration with EDC International Poul Erik Bech, CEO of Momondo, Tore Pein Jensen, says: “It has been a good collaboration. It has been a good and close dialogue, which we have greatly appreciated. There has been great transparency with who has had the ball on which tasks. Basically, our team has held a status meeting every week – sometimes just 5 minutes, but other times up to an hour. So it has been a time consuming process and it has not been an easy task. But we are super happy that we have found the right premises for us, and we are very much looking forward to moving in.”
