Coloplast’s factory building in Thisted is now falling into new hands, as the Property 7 ApS company has bought the property. The purchase springs from a wish to boost Thisted as a local area, says Birgitte Wøhlk Kristensen, managing director of the property company, in a press release.
“The property holds many opportunities, and it’s important to continue creating and maintaining jobs and innovation in Thisted and Thy,” she says.
Property 7 ApS took over the property at the start of the year and has let it to Coloplast until the company moves out in August. In the interim, the new owners have started considering what to do with the property more specifically. However, in the press release, Birgitte Wøhlk Kristensen reveals that it might be suitable for commercial purposes, including offices and production. It may also have room for entrepreneurs or others who need to be part of a community.
Extraordinarily quick sale
The property at Industrivej in Thisted is more than 10,000 m2. According to Martin Brasholt Mikkelsen, a partner of EDC Erhverv Poul Erik Bech Aalborg, the sale was extraordinarily quick for a property of this size. Less than a week passed from the time the buyer showed interest just after Christmas until the sale was effected. In fact, before that, several other potential buyers had shown interest in the former Coloplast property.
“It was a quick New Year’s deal without prolonged negotiations. The total turnover time was less than five months, which is a short period for such a large property. It shows that properties outside major towns can also be sold,” says Martin Brasholt Mikkelsen, referring to the fact that last summer he also sold a large, 42,000 m2 warehouse in Nors, just outside Thisted.
